Jason and his family’s trip to Ikos Andalusia

Jason and his family have just returned from what he has described as his best holiday ever! Have a look at the snapshot video his wife made of the time they had and a quick review of the hotel from Jason!

“We have just returned from a week’s stay at the absolutely beautiful Ikos Andalusia. A short 3-hour flight from Belfast to Malaga with Jet2 and then a 45-55 minute transfer to the hotel was the ideal start.

From the moment we were met by the driver of our Ikos organised transfer the stage was set. An extremely efficient and friendly customer service. Upon arrival at the hotel our luggage was taken from us to be brought to our room, we were seated in reception and offered a welcome drink whilst a member of the reception team took our passports and completed  our check-in for us. That was completed really quickly before the very friendly and knowledgeable Diane, guided us through a map of the hotel and what all was on offer. Diane then set us up with the hotel concierge via WhatsApp (took 15 seconds max). This service was incredible – from 7am to 11pm you could message the concierge directly and they can help you – restaurant reservations, excursions, room requests, anything you can think of!

We were then escorted to our rooms and shown all the mod-con’s and features. We had a Junior Suite with Sea View which was huge and had everything you could imagine you would need. Re-stocked min-bar where you could request what you wish, snacks, luxury bathroom amenities, widescreen TV (with worldwide TV channels), ridiculously comfy bed with a  pillow menu and probably the best shower in any hotel stay so far. A big mention to the 24-hour room service which is included.

The hotel is premium all inclusive and it really is – all food, drinks, Wi-Fi, sports activities and non-motorised water sports were included. This lead to something that as cruisers we aren’t usually used to – forced relaxation!!

No matter what you want there is no hassle. There are 7 a la carte restaurants plus a buffet on-site plus the option to eat out in 2 local restaurants which are also included as part of your package. There is a also a pool bar/menu which can be delivered to your sun lounger pretty much all day. As you can see from our video and pictures the hotel is stunning but it is the team that work there who stand out. A special mention to Yegor, Tomas and Sandra.

Upon booking 7 nights you are also eligible to take a Tesla for the day to explore the local area. We opted to enjoy all the hotel facilities instead but spoke to a number of guests who absolutely loved this.

One thing I was slightly nervous about for this trip was travelling to a hotel of this calibre with a 1 year old. Inevitably I knew there would be tears at time and some mess at meal times. Ikos are brilliant and they are definitely perfect for families. Each restaurant seemed to have a part for families and a quieter part for those without kids. It worked perfectly and the team were amazing with our son. Each restaurant has a menu for adults but also for kids and toddlers. There is great entertainment for the kids of all ages, all included. As our son is just learning to walk we would have brought him to reception area some evenings where there was a carpeted area. The team there would regularly have came over to chat with us and to interact with our son – a special mention to Elen who became our son’s best friend! There is also a fantastic kids club but there is too much to say about how good it is, in this short review.

There are a large range of rooms (which I sneaked a look at quite a few) which can accommodate from 2 people right up to a 4 bedroom private villa which can sleep 8 adults and some children.
